Language Selector
Service for selecting the current user's language.
The Location Selector service allows you to register locations that represent cultural aspects, such as: language, numeric formatting, date formatting, among others. It also allows the registration of expressions for the portal objects (which are editable) with their respective translations, to be displayed according to the language selected by the user.
The translations of the product are done by consulting string tables in XML files distributed by the structure under the directory lumisdata/def, according to the product component to which the strings refer. The resource path is given the name of the relative path, starting from the lumisdata/def directory, to reach the XML translation file, plus the prefix of the file name, excluding the location and the XML extension. For example, if a resource path is defined as "lumis/service/news/strings", it means that, to translate an expression to Brazilian Portuguese, whose location code is "pt-BR", the XML file used will be ".../lumisdata/def/lumis/service/news/strings.pt-BR.xml".
The next sections address the interaction of the service by the end user, the registration environment for locations and expressions to be translated and modified by the service administrator, and finally, the provision of the service by the portal administrator.
