Service Overview
This service aims to facilitate the management of portal content and should be accessed through the item 'Content Administration' located in the top menu in the publisher view.
My portal
In this area, you can access the functionalities 'My Pending Issues', 'My Latest Updates' and 'Configure Administration Tree'.
Navigation
The navigation through “Channel Structures” will display all channels, starting from the root channel of the current section, that have services with interfaces marked as relevant for self-administration.
The navigation through “Service Instances” will search for all service instances that have relevant interfaces for the current section. The interfaces are grouped by service instance which are ordered by name. It becomes extremely important to name these instances correctly to avoid name repetitions and to make their purposes explicit.
In addition to the pre-registered types of navigation, publishers can add custom navigation trees.
Each custom navigation tree consists of items and exclusions.
The items of a custom tree can be of the following types:
- Logical Group
- This type of item allows the publisher to create a hierarchy in the navigation tree. This item is not clickable and allows the registration of sub-items.
- Channel Tree
-
This item creates a navigation tree for a specific channel. This item creates a view similar to that created by a navigation of the type "Channel Structures", limited to the selected channel and its children. This item does not allow the registration of sub-items.
There is an option to hide this root node, causing all of its services and/or child channels to appear directly in its parent channel.
- Service Instance
- This item creates navigation items related to the selected service instance, as in the navigation by "Service Instances". This item does not allow the registration of sub-items.
The exclusions serve to prevent certain items from being displayed in the custom navigation tree. The excluded items can be of the following types:
- Channel Tree
- This item excludes all items contained in the selected channel from the navigation tree.
- Service Instance
- This item excludes the selected service instance from the navigation tree.
