Configuration
To publish messages associated with content from the portal on social networks, the service must be of the type content, and the main source must have the tag publishToSocialNetwork within the metaData tag, which is only available for sources of the type contentTable. However, this is a necessary but not sufficient condition. Additionally, the instance of this service must have visibility of an enabled account; if these conditions are met, then the button "Social Networks (N)" will be visible, and therefore publishing to social networks through association with content will be available for this service instance.
Example of douidefinition.xml enabling publication to social networks in a service.
Only news services have this functionality enabled by default.
For an application to automatically publish content on public networks, it must be registered as a recognized application on each of these networks. This registration is referenced, on each social network, by a different pair of keys consumer key and consumer secret.
Only predefined social networks are available, namely Twitter and Facebook.
Messages can be associated with content from the portal; these messages can have a link to the content, and these links will use the 'shortened' format definition of the content instance.
