General Observations
This topic lists some general observations about export and import.
- When using exports for file systems or restore points, some identifiers of some elements are not stored. Instead, they are regenerated or dynamically and automatically obtained during the import process. For this reason, export and import in file systems or restore points are not compatible with export and import in LEC regarding identifier preservation.
- Each operating system may impose a limit on the maximum path of a file in the file system. The channel structure and friendly identifiers must comply with the limits of your operating system.
- Exports do not replace backups, therefore regular and strategic backups (for example: before an update) should still continue to be made.
- Partial exports or imports of file systems or restore points may have issues with external dependencies or inconsistent structure generation. Administrators should be aware of how they will partially import channels to avoid problems.
- It is important to pay attention to the messages in the operation reports, which may include:
